Roles and responsibilities
- John McAndrew is Director of Programmes for 主播大秀 News, responsible for the quality, consistency and editorial direction of 主播大秀 television and radio news programmes, including Breakfast, the One, Six and Ten O鈥檆lock News bulletins, Newsnight, the Today programme, PM, Newsbeat, Radio 5 Live.
Biography
John has more than 25 years鈥� experience of frontline news and current affairs and has held executive positions at several major news broadcasters, including Sky News (Executive Editor & Director of Content), NBC News International, ITN Productions and more.
He took up this position in January 2023, and prior to that he was most recently the launch editor of The Andrew Neil Show at Channel 4. Before this he spent a year as Editorial Director and Director of News and Programmes at GB News and three years as a Consulting Executive at NBC News International.
During more than a decade in senior roles at Sky News, John launched multiple programmes and formats, including The Pledge and Boulton & Co; was Executive Producer of Live at Five as well as Sky鈥檚 election coverage and Leaders鈥� Debates He also spent time as Head of International News, before being appointed Executive Editor & Director of Content on all platforms.
John began his news career in the 主播大秀鈥檚 Political Research Unit, and went on to a number of 主播大秀 producer and editor roles, including launching and editing the Daily Politics on 主播大秀 Two.
