Dummy rifle

Contributed by Rhyl Museum

The dummy Ö÷²¥´óÐã Guard Rifle was issued to units of the new force to practice with until they could be issued with real armaments. It is the same weight and size as a real .303 Lee Enfield rifle, that the British infantry were issued with. By the time the real ones arrived, the Ö÷²¥´óÐã Guard would be used to marching and standing guard with the dummies and make an easy transition. This rifle was used by the Ö÷²¥´óÐã Guard in Denbigh.
