Fi Glover's object was part of a wave of objects that were labour-saving devices, designed for women who stayed at home. It is a Kenwood Chef food mixer from around 1969. She bought the mixer in a second-hand shop, and still uses it today.

Fi's intrigued by the mixer's previous owner. She doesn't know who it belonged to, but the mixer had definitely "been used an awful lot" before she bought it. She hopes that it played the same role in another woman's life that it does in hers.

Fi says that her object is about saying: "I do something at home. I'm a working mum, I go out of the house an awful lot. And the Kenwood is something that is old-fashioned, it says something old-fashioned about what I do."
