Anglo Saxon Pin Brooch

This brooch shows us that the area around Church Leigh near Tean was occupied in Anglo Saxon times. It shows us that materials such as lead and silver were being intricately worked to form decorative items. The pin would have been iron. It was unearthed when a field with a pond was ploughed and levelled.
