主播大秀

The lovely Debbie McGee can be heard every Sunday on 主播大秀 Radio Berkshire from 9am to 12pm, where she'll regale you with tales from her showbiz and family life, as well as set you up for the day with her infectious laugh.

Rising to international fame alongside her husband - magician Paul Daniels - on his television show in the 80s and 90s, Debbie is a former ballet dancer and, for three years, she was artistic director of her own ballet company.

What makes you laugh?听听

"I am a real giggler and so lots of things make me laugh. Mostly it is my husband, he is always saying and doing silly things which have me in stitches.

"When I am with my family we seem to laugh all the time. The TV听programmes QI and Harry Hill's TV Burps really make me laugh and also NCIS, which is an American crime series but with great humour."

What's your most embarrassing moment on air?

"I'm quite new to broadcasting on the radio and so I haven't really got an embarrassing moment from that.

"In television broadcasting my most embarrassing moment was on The Paul Daniels Magic Show: as part of a trick Paul and I swapped genders, I walked out from behind a screen dressed in men's trousers but had forgotten to do up my flies! Whoops...."

Where is your favourite place in Berkshire?

"Because I travel a lot, my favourite place in Berkshire is coming home, particularly my garden."

What jobs did you do before broadcasting?

"When I was attending The Royal Ballet School I had a part time job working in a local Kentucky Fried Chicken, I still love to eat it now.

"I also worked in an accounts department for a large company in my summer holidays, if I hadn't gone into showbiz I wanted to be an accountant. My brother is an accountant and my sister works for a bank so it is obviously in our genes."

What's your favourite piece of music?

"Ah ha, my favourite piece of music, this is always a difficult one because I like so much music.

"I like Robbie Williams, Jay Kay, Michael Buble, Lionel Richie, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, Dame Cleo Laine, Frank Sinatra - I could go on for ever.

"Classically I love Erik Satie's Trois Gymnopedies, which is the music for the ballet monotones - also Prokoviev's Dance Of The Knights and听 Bizet's Carmen.
