After watching the film 鈥淪lumdog Millionaire鈥, Pushpam Singh was so moved by the levels of poverty in India that she felt she had to do something about it. Her event this Saturday will raise money for Save the Children鈥檚 work in India. The event will include Indian music and dance performances by adults and children, along with a three course buffet dinner. Seeing Dragons in the Clouds at Bilston Craft Gall
Seeing Dragons in the Clouds at Bilston Craft Gallery from 28 June provides an insight into the imaginative world of craft. Inspired by the ordinary and mundane, found objects have been transformed into wild beasts, magical forms, jewellery and sculpture by 9 different makers. Families and children are invited to take part in the exhibition which celebrates the art of the imagination on the family fun day, Saturday 28 June from 11am. Be one of the first to see the exhibition and take part in printmaking and sculpture making. All of the objects have been specially made for the exhibition and they include an installation of papier-m芒ch茅 objects by Scottish artist Robert Callender, and a series of folded and cut paper sculptures inspired by weird and wonderful animals by recent graduate Heidi Daish. What makes this exhibition special is that learning and fun are at its core. Family groups are welcomed and are invited to get involved in a range of hands-on activities provided. Also a special Activities Booklet accompanies the exhibition to help children interact with and learn from the artwork at the Gallery and later at home.

The day will bring people of faith and no faith together to focus on green issues and find out about 鈥榞reen living in every day life鈥. During the day there will be a number of workshops focused on green activities, including living greener lives,making our buildings more eco-friendly,climate change thermometers, being faith ambassadors for climate change. In the morning session a series of speakers representing different faiths, including Christianity (Eco-Congregation, Operation Noah)and Islam (MINE) will explain their religion鈥檚 view of living in harmony with the planet and current thinking on the climate change debate. Hello, I'm a Dudley based photographer, with a studio in Birmingham's jewellery quarter and currently studying towards an MA Fine Art at Wolverhampton University.I'm looking for participants for my new project which is all about the Melancortin-1 Receptor or "ginger gene" which some scientists claim will die out within the next century or so.I am looking for male and female models of all ages who have the red-hair gene - to be photographed at my studio. Kicfm is a youth radio station based on the Compton Park Campus of Wolverhampton University. We are currently looking for young people aged between 16-24 to get involved in our Internet radio broadcast. Whether you want to try your hand at presenting your own show, writing/reading the news or getting involved in the wide variety of 'behind the scenes' work that goes into running a radio station - We'll give you the training and skills you need to do it properly. Alternatively, if radio's not your thing and you're involved in some OTHER voluntary activity that is of some benefit to the community*, we can offer you a reward for all of your hard work! Millennium Volunteer鈥檚 is a government initiative designed to reward young people (aged 16-24) who volunteer their time and get involved in the local community. When the young person achieves targets of 100 and 200 volunteer hours, they are awarded with two Certificates of Achievement, which are recognised by Colleges, Universities and employers up and down the country. Please pop along to our meeting nights (Over 18's Monday night 7.30 to 9.30 & under 18's Wednesday night 6.45 to 8.45)& learn what we do for the local community. Bloxwich Phoenix Rotary Club
We meet weekly on Sunday evenings, at the Sir Robert Peel public house, Bell Lane, Bloxwich, WS3 2JS; unlike many Rotary clubs we do not eat at meetings, but we do, of course, enjoy a drink or two and generally finish the meeting with a speaker or some other entertainment. The meetings start at 7.45pm, and are normally over by around 9.30pm. Our club is relatively new, having been chartered in September 2003, and we have a relatively young age span (currently from mid 20s to early 50s). Men and women are, of course, equally welcome. One Hoot Rebels Country and Western Club
We are a fairly new Country and Western Club (est July 2004). We hold a music night once a month at Shepwell Green Social Club, Bilston Lane, Willenhall, WV13 2QF. We have live bands, line dancing, raffles and a fast draw competition. All the money we raise this year will go to County Air Ambulance. Last year we donated money to New Cross Neo Natal Unit. Halesowen and Stourbridge NCT
The National Childbirth Trust is the largest and best known childbirth and parenting charity in Europe. It wants all parents to have an experience of pregnancy, birth and parenthood that enriches their lives and gives them confidence in being a member. Stourbridge and Halesowen branch of the NCT gives support to new parents by providing a wide range of services, as well as a friendly network of local mums. AL-ANON
Al-Anon Family Groups are self help groups which give support and friendship to relatives and friends of alcoholics. There are no fees (members are invited to make a voluntary contribution). We are do not have any religious, or political affiliation. The only requirement for joining us is that your life has been affected by someone close to you being an alcoholic. You are welcome to join us at our local meeting at The Health Centre, Albion Street Brierley Hill.
