My garment is inspired by beds. The material was stripped from old, worn out mattress. It is quite sculptural and very voluminous! The garment can either reveal the chest or be covered up by an extra bit of material sewn into the side. I love the layering in it, this was created by padding in between the pieces of fabric. Textiles also plays quite a big part in this as the mattress has a diamond pattern on it so i have sewn in diamonds on every layer this also creates texture. This jacket is aimed at quite young people however could be worn for older women possibly wearing an evening gown.
