I thought a waistcoat / tuxedo would be really good because its different, yet not in a completely strange and un-wearable way. I made it so that it fit nicely around the waist and would slim you down. I chose to use dark denim at the front and black at the back because that way they could be worn with more things and other garments than if the denim was blue and I used gold and dark maroon because they are moody colours but sophisticated too. I used a special stitch on the sewing machine so that the gold and maroon would be scrunched up and look really good and i also added a flower with my maroon and a stripe with my gold. I spent a lot of time doing every detail like finding the correct buttons out of what I had, using the correct stitch and even finding the best thread to go with it.
