I bought 4 pairs of jeans from charity shops, which cost me a total of 3! I then used them, plus a lot of thread and a old zip to create this dress. I wanted a pinafore dress and I like the idea of recycling. Also I find it difficult to buy clothes I like cheaply and ethically, but I think I have found a way! I liked the idea of using contrasting colours of denim, which is why the skirt section is striped. I wanted to re-use as much of the jeans as possible so the straps are made from the waistband with the buttons from two of the pairs of jeans.
