I chose to use red, yellow, green and gold because they are often associated with Mexico and are vibrant (and fun to use!). I looked at some of Matthew Williamson's designs and I loved the billowy, flowy ones, which is why I created my design the way I did. I also looked at traditional Mexican wear and thought the square neck and plaited belt matched my design perfectly, so I added them in. Instead of using square sleeves however, I thought puff sleeves worked better because they are more modern and look more fashionable.
