I got inspiration for this dress from a variety of different Mexican themes for example architecture, climate, wildlife, famous icons and carnivals. My main ideas of Mexico were bright colours, feathers and big carnivals. The dress is mainly inspired from the Quetzal bird which is brightly coloured and has many layered feathers, so I tried to portray this in the dress. My other inspiration was Frieda Kahlo as she wears a lot of elegant layers.
