This design was based on the colours and nature of Mexico. The first layer of frills are made up of red, orange and yellow. These are bright colours that reflect the vibrance of life in Mexico. Also the frills are used a lot in traditional Mexican dress. The bodice is made up of three shades of green and represents one of the colours from the national flag. It also shows how green is a colour that is used in many foods such as the nopales, chilies and guacamole. The magenta red of the skirt is a bright colour that I made up by blending the red and the pink. The birds and flowers on the skirt I drew with gel pens of gold, red and silver. The birds are there to show how nature is very bright and colourful in Mexican culture and how involved it is with the Aztecs and tradition. The bottom frills are made up of different shades of red and are decorated with lines to emphasize the flow and movement. The bag is drawn to match the bag and has a similar design with the red, orange and yellow frills and the birds and flowers. This design to me brings out many aspects of the Mexican culture and life.
