My inspiration was the ammount of pollution there is in Mexico city. I found out its the most polluted city in the world, so I wanted to base my dress around it. I was also inspired by many sunset pictures that had mexico city building skyline in the fore ground, so i had the front of the dress full of sunset colours and pollution on top of the skyline and the back veiw is a sunset without any pollution becuase I wanted to show people the contrast in between the both sides. Within the whole outfit there is things that I associate with Mexico for example I put maraca-shaped sleeves because thats one of their traditional instruments. I also put on the side of the dress overlapping material becuase I thought it looked like the shape of tacos. I choose grey to be the base colour because that's the colour I associate with pollution, plus all the sunset colours I put within the dress suited grey. The material that I would use on the dress would be silk to show elegance and to contrast with the theme. I had a look at some of the websites of Mathew Williamson and only took the collar line from his new spring/summer collection because alot of them had round collar lines. Credits: n/a
