I designed my dress based on the shape of the traditional garment for women in Mexico, the Huipil. Both the Mayans and the Aztecs took religion very seriously, and as a declaration of their faith, built temples in honour of their gods on top of great step pyramids. The gold lame motif on the bottom right of my dress is stairs leading up to a grand temple.
