For my design I used earthly natural colours, which reflect Mexico's landscape. I designed a bibbed front with gold beading in a floral theme like Mexico's plants. The fabric I would use for this dress is cotton as it is natural and breathable making it perfect for Mexico's hot climate. The shape of the dress is modern and the clinched in waist gives it a more feminine shape. For inspiration I studied many of Frida Kahlo portraits, as well as different types of Mexican plants and animals. The film 'Frida' gave me an idea of the Mexican culture and history.
