This has a sombrero hat covering all the face but the lips and this gives a sense of mystery. It is a velvet skirt with many pleats. The top came from the idea of a tropical birds' feathers. These feathers that Aztecs wore on their heads were twisted and with the idea of amulets around the neck they were placed and extended to cover the body in the form of a baggy shirt. The blue boots are the jewellery that Aztecs wore all around their lower legs transformed into blue 'old looking leather'. Lastly the huge knitted cloak is from the inspiration of large Aztec cloaks but also keeping in mind, the frequent use of large knits in Matthew Williamson's winter collection.
