I chose Ed because I felt his music was unique and beautiful in comparison to the other options. I used different medias in this piece, I drew and painted Ed, and collaged the background with newspaper articles before giving them a light blue covering to pull the piece together, if you look closely you can see little instruments like a Banjo and Double bass in his hair, growing like roots, in his interview I noticed Ed used the word 'Rootsy' to describe his music allot and I wanted to incorporate this. I have painted his bracelets in colour to draw attention to them, I think they add personality to Ed and you start to get the impression that he is a warm, happy and arty person. The picture I chose along with the background suggests that he is hiding from the media and just wants to be left alone, I think most musicians do not want to be in the spotlight, just want to make great music. Like Ed.
