I chose Ed because his music is unique and different compared to the other mainstream options there was. I drew and painted Ed in and collaged the background with newspaper articles before adding a light blue paint coat to bring the work together. If you look closely you can see instruments in his hair, during Ed's interview i noticed he used the word 'Rootsy' a lot and I wanted to incorporate this by making the instrument look like roots in his hair. I used the image and newspaper to represent the culture of modern musicians, constantly in the papers, and in the media for no reason, the picture of Ed looks like he is hiding, i also painted his bracelets in colour to draw attention to them, as soon as you see them you think of him as a warm , happy and arty person.
