Title: Black and wWhite

by Jessica | in writing, poetry

How very much I long to see,
The world in black and ivory,
It doesn't matter at all to me,
For the change in scenery.
People speak of red and green,
They speak of flowers,
That are all so clean,
They speak of colourful April showers,
And how they love to play around,
In the sun all golden brown,
And the mud all on the ground,
Also of seeing beautiful gowns.
But you should know,
I really do not care,
If I see that rosy glow,
Or the bright colours at the fair,
I want to see in a different way,
No more colour everyday,
I want to see in black and white,
Not in colours all so bright.
So you see I would not mind,
If I were to turn colour blind.

We were doing inherited diseases in science and colour blindness came up. It got me thinking could it be so bad if we could see the world like a 50's film? This is a bit different from my normal stuff to be honest so I hope you enjoy it.
