Title: You

by Josh from Norfolk | in writing, poetry

I come near you and my heart jumps,
I come near you and my stomach flutters,
I come near you and my face lights up,
I come near you and my whole being glows.

There is a feeling of anxiety,
A feeling of nervousness,
A feeling of excitement,
A feeling of anticipation,
A feeling of love.

I can feel it,
Burning through my veins,
Like a second blood,
It tears through my body like a shining silver blade through a warrior.

As it tears and slices it awakens something,
Something I had hidden,
Something I had chosen not to feel,
It's a feeling, a feeling I have felt before,
It was all too familiar.

It was the realisation that, I could never be with you.
We could never share experiences,
We could never laugh together as we walked through a park somewhere,
And it was because, you didn't love me back.

No matter what I did,
No matter what I tried,
You would never feel the same way,
And never would'

It's about me really. I really liked someone and for some reason it brought me down a lot. But without knowing it, they were my inspiration for this poem.
