Title: Black heart

by Olivia from Surrey | in writing, fiction

Once I was in I was in. There was no stopping me. I loved challenges. It was my meaning of life. I didn't read books if I could help it, I didn't watch TV very much, in some peoples opinion I was weird. I didn't think I was mad. I just preferred putting my life at risk than doing any of that other normal stuff, that was all. And because of that, no one ever messed with me. You see tonight, was the furthest I'd ever gone. I was running, gun in hand, Sam driving ahead, shouting for me to get in the car, slowing so I could jump in and get away from the cops running behind me, threatening with their guns, sweat touching the top of their foreheads.
"Get in the freaking car!" Sam shouts at me. I couldn't. I was having way too much fun.
"Like I'm gonna get in now!" I shout back, the excitement clearly showing on my face.
"Come on! You're not only risking you're life, not that I care, but you're also putting our lives in danger as well!" When he saw there was no reaction on my face he shouts at me,
"What? Are you scared that we'll all make fun of you when you get back in this car just because you chickened out." I wasn't listening so he tries something else out.
"Are you trying to be too much like a guy? Well believe me you're not doing a very good job. We would have got in this car by now and started shooting out of the window. Come on!" He shouts when all that happens is that a grimace spreads across my face.
"Well I'm more of a guy than you are obviously!" I shout back. At that point, the car stops and the police slow, obviously planning to trick us.
"Just get in the car."
Sam had tried to stop me earlier so that this wouldn't happen. I give up, kind of, and get in the car.
"Thank you!" Sam says, relieved that it was over. Well it wasn't over. I roll down the window and start shooting out of it.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?"
"I'm being a guy."
"But you're not a guy!"
"Oh you've blown it now." I take the key out of the ignition and get out of the car.
"What-" was all I heard before the gun shots started.
