Title: GCSE's

by Catherine from Northumberland | in writing, poetry

The silence around me is closing in
It is so strong it is breaking in
It's hard to breathe ' deep and heavy
Writing and reading ' the books are too heavy
Everyone is screaming at me, too loud to hear
I try to talk back, but they don't want to hear

'We need it done! Sort it out!'
I start to scream, 'coz there's no way out
Weeks pass and the end draws close
They begin to back off, the anger does close
The pressure is still there for us though
The unwilling learners, some willing to though
Knowledge is thrust ' so hard down our throats
Some swallow it down, others choke in their throats
I try to swallow it, really I do, but

It is to hard the way they do scream
So unapproachable it makes me scream
I'm at the point where I'm finding it hard
So difficult to learn, the knowledge so hard
I might just give up, choke it all out
Because I really don't know, what they're babbling about.
