Title: The party

by Natasha from Scotland | in writing, fiction

The street was quiet apart from the muffled boom coming from the party they had just left. 'Kate why does your Dad have to be such a spoilsport?!' Sarah quizzed her.
'It's not my fault so don't go blaming it on me ' he told me to be out by twelve. To be honest I don't think the party was that fun. Just because you met Dan you think it was the party of the century.' She fired back.
'Will you both just shut up?! At least we got to go.' Brooke said as we walked down the street to a dead end.
'I thought you knew where we were going!' Sarah shouted at Kate.
'I don't remember the woods being here' She said, then again all the streets around the housing estate looked the same. They could be anywhere.
'Urghhh I don't care anymore lets just cut through the woods, I'm freezing to death! I think the main road's at the bottom.' Sarah moaned shivering in her miniskirt. She wandered off onto the path that led into the woods using her phone as a light. 'Sarah come back!' Brooke shouted after her. But the little light had gone deep into the dark forest.

Kate and Brooke stumbled into the darkness of the forest not having a clue where they were going. Something in the corner of Kate's eye glinted in the moonlight. Lying amongst the autumn leaves was Sarah's bracelet. It was her Tiffany one that her Mum had brought her back from New York. It lay there dead without Jens wrist around it. She made it twinkle. Kate and Brooke switched worried looks as Brooke bent down to pick it up. As she grasped the bracelet and got back up she got the fright of her life. 'Oh it's you. You scared the living daylights out of me!' It was only Dan from the party. Kate stood there wondering though, what was he doing in a forest ' shouldn't he be at the party? As it dawned on Kate she saw the square beam of light come from Dan's pocket'

The Party was booming when Sarah, Kate and Brooke had arrived. All three of them looked glamorous as they entered the house. It was Layla ' a girl in their class having the sixteenth birthday party in her house. The place was swarming with people. As they pushed through the crowds, Sarah bumped shoulders with someone. As she glanced up she was awe struck. His hair was a dark shade of chocolate and his hazel eyes made her melt.
'Sorry' She said gazing into his eyes.
'That's fine.' He replied giving her a wink. 'So, what's your name?'
'I'm Sarah, you?'
'I'm Dan'

It was about half eleven when Sarah was tapped on the shoulder. She had to pull away from her marathon kissing session with Dan. 'What is it?!' Sarah snapped.
'Remember what I told you about my Dad saying I had to be home by half twelve so we'd better get ready to go.' Kate Replied.
Sarah gave Kate an evil stare before turning back to Dan who was looking embarrassed.
'I'll have to go, see you later' Sarah said giving him a quick peck on the cheek.
'Can't you stay?' Dan said getting annoyed. He sounded sinister in a way.
'No I've got to go!' Sarah said catching up Kate and leaving Dan gawping.
'Let's go and get Brooke I think she's upstairs' Kate said as we clambered up the stairs.
Brooke was standing on the landing chatting to Layla.
As soon as we caught Brooke's eye she automatically groaned as she knew what we were here for.
'Do we have to go?'
'Yeah, sorry my Dad will kill me if I'm not home by twelve'
'Urggh!' Brooke groaned.
'Anyway so I saw you with that gorgeous guy Dan. He's Layla's brother.' Brooke said turning to Sarah
'Yeah. He is a really nice guy' Sarah beamed.
'He creeps me out. The way he looked at you as if he owned you.' Kate remarked.
'Yeah, whatever.' Sarah replied.

Kate had been right all along. Dan was a creep He had Sarah's phone in his pocket! Kate was starting to get panicky. What could she do? Sarah could be in danger!
'We have to; I have to be back by twelve. See you later' Kate said ending off the conversation.
'See you' Dan replied.
They both turned and walked out of the woods trying to get way from him. Once Dan disappeared out of view Kate started telling Brooke what they were going to do.
'Okay. Brooke listen to me. I saw Sarah's phone in Dan's pocket.' It took a few moments for Rose to register but then she suddenly gasped.
'I think Sarah's in danger'
Quietly creeping back into the forest Kate and Brooke went to try and find Sarah.
'Sarah?!' Brooke shouted.
'Sarah are you there?' Kate whimpered.
Suddenly a muffled groan came from the right of them. It was a bit dangerous to go into the forest and leave the dirt track but they had to help Sarah. As they got closer they heard the groan again coming from behind a tree.
There Sarah was; the tape wrapped tightly around her mouth and the rope tied around her and the tree. Kate and Brooke quickly ran over and slowly peeled off the tape. A tear fell down Sarah's face as they looked at her bleeding mouth. Sarah tried to open her mouth to say something but nothing would come out, she was too traumatised. Kate then went round the back of the tree to untie the rope that was gauging into Sarah's wrists. Sarah got up and slowly started speaking. 'He told me I was his.' They had started walking in the direction of the main road. 'He said that once the party was over he was going to run away with me and that there was nothing I could do about it.'
6 steps to go till they reached the road.
'Why did he wrap you around a tree?' Brooke asked.
5 steps.
'He said he would get me when he came back.'
4 steps.
'He had been following us.'
3 steps.
'He said if I moved from the spot that he would kill ----' suddenly a hand tapped her on the shoulder. The forest had all gone quiet, except the loud breathing coming from behind her. Slowly she turned around.

It was Dan'

I don't really have an inspiration. The idea of that story just came into my head :)
