Title: Winter weather

by Charis | in writing, poetry

Biting wind and icy snow
Frozen lakes beneath the moons glow
A blanket of white covers the land
It is being held in Jack Frost's hand

A castle in the forest deep
While all the world is sound a sleep
Inside a wizard casts a spell
But how to reverse it no-one can tell

Stinging wind gathers strength
A snow storm with unusual length
One warm lake's covered in ice
While the frosty air smells of cinnamon, spice

Safe by the fires soft, warm glow
No-one thinks of the secrets below
Of the demons cutting through the tree
That hold the world up for you and for me

So we'll bake some cookies and throw them out
And to the demons we will shout
Come eat your cookies, leave the tree to heal
And return there when you've had your meal.

I wish there could be snow for winter but since there never is I create it in my poems. And the thing about the cookies is an ancient tradition my Mummy told me about.
