Title: Incessant tapping

by Charlie from Wales | in writing, fiction

Has anybody shared with me the tedious and repetitive past time of tapping a table without ceasing?
I find it greatly relaxing to strum my fingers on the surface of the desks in school, much to the dissatisfaction of my peers. When in my German lesson, happily banging the William Tell overture, a ruler seemed to spontaneously appear and slam my knuckles. Upon closer inspection I found that the ruler was in the hands of my friend Jack. I was about to start yelling when I....well.. started yelling. Though rather than the emotive piece I was preparing to fire at Jack, I was rewarded with a rather high pitched yell. Realising that it was in fact me that was the source of the noise I felt it necessary to clamp my hand to my mouth. Unfortunately, this being my "bad hand", I was soon in extreme agony. Note to self: If pondering whether to tap, inspect the area for rulers ready to ambush your fingers.
