Title: Sweet Temptation-Prologue

by Kyra | in writing, fiction

Prologue
December, 10 1543

'Mommy, Daddy? Why is it so dark? Where are you!?' The small child of five years called out to the dark house. 'Why aren't you answering me? Mommy, Daddy?!' He cried out, putting his hands along the walls. His finger's came in contact with a wet, sticky substance to which he paid no heed to and continued on until he found his parents room. His face lit up as he saw two bodies lying limp on the wooden floor. He rushed quickly towards the bodies and shook them, 'Mommy, Daddy? Why are you lying on the floor? Wake up! Mommy, Daddy!' He shook them even harder now, tasting his salty tears in his mouth. Lighting suddenly erupted from the storm outside, filling the room with a bright light. The boy screamed as he came face to face with the bloodied faces of his parents, their hollowed faces and eyeless sockets looking into his own. He scrambled off the floor and ran out the door into the harsh, brutal storm outside. He didn't stop running until he came to dark, cold cave far from his home. He took shelter in the cave, trying to rid his mind of his parent's dead faces. He tried to keep himself awake but found that he had lost and fell lightly into a sea of nightmares. The boy had no idea that he was found by someone and that he was being taken to their home. So, naturally, when he awoke he screamed loudly, causing the man beside him to flinch. The little boy took notice of the man as soon he was done screaming. The man sighed happily, and spoke to the little boy, 'Hello, my name is Theo. And what is your name?' The boy blinked his eerie colored eyes and spoke quietly, 'Damien.' Theo nodded his head and asked another question, 'Do you know why you are here? And not in the cave?' Damien shook his raven capped head, and looked up at Theo innocently. 'It is because I found you in the cave. You were shivering and had a blue tint to your body. I brought you to my home, so that you wouldn't die.' Theo said, looking Damien in the eyes so he would understand. Damien nodded his head slowly and suddenly started crying. Theo got a look of panic on his face and asked Damien what was wrong. 'My Mommy and Daddy. They wouldn't wake up!' Damien sobbed, rocking himself back and forth. Theo got a look of understanding on his face and took the sobbing child into his arms. As he rubbed Damien's back, he thought to himself sadly, 'No one should ever have to see Death at this early age.' And continued on rubbing Damien's back until he was peacefully asleep. Theo looked out the window and saw that snow was falling peacefully. 'Only if humankind could be as peaceful as falling snow.'

'Theo?' The young man of nineteen called out, his acid green eyes searching for any sign of his beloved mentor. 'Stop playing around, Theo!' Damien called out, pushing open every door. He got to Theo's bedroom door, and pushed it open slowly. Theo's room was a complete mess, like someone was fighting for their life in here. Damien walked over to the bathroom door and was confused at the bloody marks staining the white door. He opened the door and took in the bloodied scene tainting the bathroom. His eyes landed on the beautiful woman sitting elegantly upon the edge of the sink. 'You must be Damien.' She spoke in a seducing purr, jumping of the sink and walking towards Damien, wrapping her arms around his neck. 'What did you do?!' Damien screamed and yanked her arms off of him. 'And where is Theo?!' The woman laughed, and answered, 'See for yourself. Your little friend sure made a fun toy.' She pointed to the tub, and smirked at Damien. Damien rushed quickly to the tub and almost vomited at the horrific scene. Theo's once full of life electric blue eyes were now dull and empty. His white-blonde hair was tainted with dark red blood. His body was pale and had deep scratch marks on both arms, and his neck. His neck was ripped open completely, and was fresh of any blood. Damien couldn't believe his eyes; his only reason for living was now dead. He turned to face the woman and said, void of any emotion, 'I want to join him.' The woman laughed fully and told Damien, 'Now why should I kill such a pretty face? No, I'm going to keep you as my pet.' She gracefully strolled towards Damien, placing her thin arms around his waist pulling him close. 'Don't worry, it won't hurt'much.' She said, and brought her mouth to Damien's neck, sinking her razor sharp fangs into his skin. This time Damien didn't pull away. In fact he tangled his slender fingers into her dark hair, pushing her head more into his neck. The woman pulled her head up, with Damien's fingers still intertwined in her hair, and smiled at him with her blood stained teeth, 'Now that's a good pet.' She bit into her wrist, blood seeping out quickly. She covered her wrist with her mouth and filled it with her blood. Damien watched as she brought her face close to his and covered his lips with her own, letting the blood flow from her mouth to his. Damien swallowed the metallic liquid, and felt his body exploded in pain. He watched as the world spun and finally he was engulfed in darkness. The women pulled his body up off the floor and into her arms; she pulled his body to her awaiting carriage outside and put Damien into it. She too climbed in and sat down next to Damien's changing body. She looked at his pale face and thought to herself satisfied, 'I picked such a beautiful pet. Much prettier than any of my other ones. I won't put this one to much work. He will be for'other uses.' She smiled and laid her head upon Damien's beating chest, 'Don't worry pet. It will be all over soon.' She thought and fell asleep to Damien's pounding heart beat.

For my love of the Vampire and Lycan(werewolf) races, I've decided to write a story about the two said races.
