Title: The only thing left

by Kaelin from Scotland | in writing, poetry

A darkened shadow weeping
A flower in faded bloom
An eagle soaring overhead
A battered desert room
The hut sat on the prairie
Its roof in bad repair
A lizard crawled across the boards
Finding noone there.
Life had fled
Death had fled
And the only substance left
A grim recall, a memory
Of residents bereft.
