Title: A Longing for a Lack of Vanity

by Sophie from Dorset | in writing, poetry

I spend more time in front of mirrors,
Than I do with all my friends;
There's no doubt,
The flame has flittered;
Bringing fireworks to an end.

I spend more time away from your side,
Than I think I really should;
Your shadow,
Is as close as I;
Could ever be from where I stood.

Once again I became a character when writing this piece, this time a girl called Amber. She's only just realised that none of her 'friends' like her, and that her boyfriend doesn't love her anymore. She watches as he talks with another girl, while Amber just sits alone. Maybe I should write down her story...
