Title: This is not a love song

by Casey from Berkshire | in writing, poetry

It's not about love hate relationships
Sleepless nights wondering 'what if'
A cheap comic romance, repeated on Channel 4
With a pretty song and slow rhythmed riff
Please find my glass slipper
And have our fairytale kiss,
I'll play Cinderella
And you'll be my prince

Let's recover reality
And realise we can't run
But then why would we want to,
It's just a bit of fun

This will make us grow
In our own separate ways
Prepare us for our journey
For our more, lonely days

They'll be times when I miss you
Of course you'll miss me
But again it is reality
And not a scene from serendipity

I can't wait for the day I can see you in the street
And smile
Then I'll ask myself
Was it all worthwhile

Which again will make me think
I just hope not too much
When people ask what happened?
We'll blame it on arguments and such.

My inspiration is mainly based on my own life. Meeting people, breaking up, exciting new things, family, friends. Followed by images I see around, different people and people who make me look twice at them.
