Title: The Labyrinths' End

by Olivia from Northern Ireland | in writing, poetry

When the ashes scatter and the coffin falls,
When my body wanes and my heart descends,
When I walk alone through the catacombs of my mind,
Will I see you again?

When Death comes at the dawn of Spring,
When the dark is here but the light never follows,
When an angel sings but I feel only pain,
Will I see you again?

When I succumb to the dark abyss,
When Heaven falls and Hell exists,
When childhood fears long anoint my dreams,
Will I see you again?

When my rose has perished and I cannot go on,
When swan has been killed by the injection of youth,
When the drugs are gone and the graves are dug,
When the blood is spilt and the tears are gone,
I'll be with my angel forevermore.
I'll be with my angel forevermore

I wrote this when I was 12 for english coursework. We were told to write about 'Our Generation' so I wrote about what can happen when you get hooked on drugs. The man in the poem has lost his 'one true love' to drugs and he is considering commiting suicide at her funeral. You can decide what happens to him!! Anyway can you let me know if you like it because I'm not sure myself!! HAHAHAHA!!
