Title: I Remember

by Gray from London | in writing, fiction

I remember the first time I saw him. He was lying on a clean white bed in the hospital. The man had bandages nearly everywhere. He had his leg held up and he was wearing striped blue and white pyjamas. He had been hand gliding but had not read the pocket manual. On his bedside table there was a vase containing beautiful daffodils. He looked sorry for himself and had only one 'GET WELL SOON' card and still it was very dull, no flowers, no pictures, even no joyful things on it, just plain 'GET WELL SOON' that was only written in pencil. When he was bored he would pick up the manual and read a bit. Every so often his cute fury hazelnut coloured guinea pig would scuttle all over his body. I felt I needed to help him so I poured some water from the jug into his glass and gave him a Chinese/Japanese good luck charm.
