Title: The beautiful seasons

by Holly from Nottinghamshire | in writing, poetry

The bleating of a new-born lamb,
The daffodil's blooming yellowness;
Everything so new and freshly green;
A better promise of hope I've never seen.

The flowers now in full bloom,
The birds are singing a merry tune,
The wonderful heat from the sun,
The sounds of laughter and having fun.

The coloured leaves fall off the trees;
The oranges, reds, yellows and browns;
Yes the cold is coming but;
Nothing's better than leaves crunching underfoot.

The beauty of a snowflake,
The whiteness and the purity,
The coldness seeping through gloved hand,
The excitement of the children all across the land.

I wrote this after a conversation with my family about our favourite seasons.
