Two hooded boys are sitting on a park bench. One is reading a book.

Pause

John: Bloody hell, mate'you're boring you are.

Dave: 'am I?

Pause

John: The reason I texted you was because I was bored! You're meant to be doing this with me.

Dave: What?

John: this

long pause with no movement. Dave returns to his book. John rises.

Fine I'm going.

Dave: No you're not.

Pause. John sits back down.

John: What the hell are you doing anyway?

Pause

Dave: Reading.

John: (disgusted) that's gay that is.

Dave: What?

John: Reading is gay. Mate.

Dave: Sorry I didn't realise.

He chucks the book to the floor. Pause. John peers down at the title of the book.

Dave: It's Beckett.

John: No it's not, you idiot, it's Waiting for Godott.

Long pause.

Are you going to carry on reading it then?

Dave: no'it's gay apparently.

John nods slowly. He stands up.

John: I'm going.

Dave: No you're not''Hollyoaks' wont be on for another hour.

John: No but 'friends' is starting in ten minutes.

Both sprint off
