[Two rooms, they are almost identical. A Stereo joins both in the middle as if it features in both. In both three friends gather round a computer. Lights up on room 1]
Foreign girl- He's from Britain
Friend 1 foreign- Ask what its like to have a queen
[Track 1- We will rock you- Queen. Lights down on group 1 and up on group 2]
UK boy- It's cool, makes you feel proud to be British
Friend 1 UK- Yea and have someone like her leading us
[Track 2-Rihanna- Umbrella. Lights down on group 2 and up on group 1]
Friend 2 foreign- Is it always raining?
[Track 2 continued. Lights down on group 1 and up on group 2]
Friend 2 UK- [looking out window] It is always raining
UK boy- Its ok though you can spend all day on the net
[Track 3-Lovely day Bill Withers. Lights down on group 2 and up on group 1]
Friend 1 foreign- So is it a big mass of green?
[Track 3 continued. Lights down on group 1 and up on group 2]
Friend 2 UK-[Still out window] It's a big mass of green- poor you living in the countryside.
UK boy- Its ok I can play football
Friend 1 UK- But you can't go clubbing
[Track 4- Fast food song- Fast food rockers. Lights down on group 2 and up on group 1]
Foreign girl-[In response] Dam! Do you live on fish and chips?
[Track 4 continued. Lights down on group 1 and up on group 2]
[Enter a fatherly figure with fish and chips the boys run for them]
UK boy- Yea mate British fish and chips
Friend 1 UK- Give her a virtual chip
[UK boy types on PC- then throws chip into foreign room- the foreign girl picks it up as if it has just arrived virtually]
Foreign Girl- Awesome! [tastes] yumm!

- The Songs are just suggestions
The play takes place in the bedrooms of two young people who are on the computer sending emails to one another with friends. They are in different countries and one is enquiring information about the others country of origin the UK. I wanted to demonstrate how we are all very similar. Having come up with ideas for stage design, I would make both rooms identical and join them in the middle by a Stereo system. Popular music was my stimulus and the idea is that young people worldwide share music tastes and interests hence sharing the stereo. The music would be played as if in both rooms and to stimulate another question topic such as rain. I also used Spaceship Earth- an attraction in Walt Disney World Florida's Epcot Park as inspiration. This is one of my favourite rides and features children communicating through means of modern day technology.
