Title: Dares

by Joanna from Lancashire | in writing, fiction

I climb the school roof, that is my dare. Just that, well not really I have to shout I love Darren! at the top of my voice. Its not that bad, everyone knows that us two are lovebirds after all... I look around me. A slightly deflated football looks back at me, surrounded by allsorts of rubbish; a crisp packet there, a mouldy sandwich there, all the usual stuff if you usualy climb up here. I stand up to my full height, a few infants notice me and put their hands over their mouths in shock. I form the 'i' in my mouth. It never comes out, instead it transforms into a scream, a scream of pure terror. I am falling, falling to my death and hell to come.

I actually wrote an opening for a book called Model Life in school so i modified the most dramatic paragraph in it.
