Title: Winter Kiss

by Deborah from London | in writing, fiction

There she lay, dressed in white, a beautiful girl with ginger hair, naturally red lips, and pale skin. Almost dead she was , if it wasn't for her cold little heart, that continued to beat despite her desperation... she would have peace, what she longed for.
"My fair lady," a young man who was passing suddenly said." What brings you to the coldest part of London, in only a light gown?" Deeply concerned the man waited some time for an answer, but the girl said nothing, she just stared into space, as if she where frozen.
"I mean shouldn't you be with your family, on Christmas and everything?"
There was a pause and the fellow was about to leave until the lady said, " My fellow, many people have walked past and not taken any notice of me. But you did, and so I am grateful and will answer your question. I have no family and am in the coldest part of London with only a light gown. Waiting for peace to come upon me ."
"Nonsense", the man said once she had finished, " come with me." And he led her to his house, where he took the lady to his living room and wrapped her with a blanket.
"Fair lady, what is your name?"
"You are full of questions, young man." At that point, she laughed for the first time in a loooooonnnnnggg time. "My name is Winter"
'Winter with a beautiful name, would you care for a cup of tea?"
"I would love one if it is to be hot." As the young man went to the kitchen, Winter smiled to herself; she wanted to die, her family were dead, along with her love. But it seemed that she had found a new one, who cared for her.
" Your tea, Winter ", the fellow said, handing Winter a cup.
"Thank you", Winter said taking a small sip from the cup and then putting it on the table to face her new love. "My fellow, I still do not know your name."
" Christian", he said going to sit next to Winter on the sofa.
"Christian", Winter whispered softly before turning to him. " What a lovely name." And with that she leaned in and kissed Christian.
