Title: September Song

by alice from Devon | in writing, poetry

Hey, beautiful

I'd really love you to come to the park with me
There's grass there we can sink into,
And clouds up high we can sing to
We'll watch them all day long, until the stars come, if you let me.
I once wished you brighter blues than that of your eyes
And you said to me 'surely if the sky were the colour of my eyes, it would be raining?'
So be it;
In every raindrop there's a sparkle
And in every sparkle there's a star
There are more stars up in space than grains of sand on Earth.

And you know how I've always loved the rain
