Title: Fire

by Nadia | in writing, poetry

The very thing vital to our evolution,
Yet it could have wiped us out.

It has kept us warm for thousands of years,
Yet it has caused countless deaths.

We have cooked with it for generations,
Yet we teach children not to play with it.

We have it in all our homes,
Yet we have people who fight against it.

It is our best friend, our ally,
Yet it is our worst enemy.

I love fire, and I thought about how we contradict it, and made it into a poem.
