Title: Concept statement

Using images and artefacts from the medieval and renaissance collection at the V&A, I will create a Capsule Menswear Collection. I have chosen three images, which I feel capture the essence of the medieval style, by combining geometry with nature using a variety of textures with delicacy and precision. I will look at the textures, shape and pattern in these images and replicate them in my designs. In my collection, I want to use a variety of textures by using different techniques to express the energy and power of the medieval style. I will use patchwork, layering of fabric, appliqué and knitwear to convey the natural yet geometrical medieval style.
