Title: Those Words

by eveningrose from London | in writing, poetry, love

Those words that slip so easily
From your lips
Are stuck on the ridge of my tongue.
That expression that cannot be duplicated
By me
Though every emotion have I wrung.

My mind is not yet light enough
To float like yours,
To enter those unknown straits of joy:
I see too many flaws.

And though I crave that loving touch
And cannot comprehend
Why my feelings do not match,
I am forced to pretend.

Those words have left me stranded
All alone
In some unfamiliar region.
I have not yet reached those happy straits
Of yours.
Instead I utter treason.

I never usually write poems, I am more into writing short stories but this came to me and I thought it would sound better as a poem.
