I have been speaking to my mentor Paul Ashton, deciding where the money from my bursary should be spent. Paul has told me to get the industry standard software that most professional screenwriters use; it’s called Final Draft. Also Paul has highlighted some screenwriting books that will help me learn the basic techniques and how the industry works. I’m also keen to get a subscription to Love Film for a year and educate myself further with diverse methods of story telling and alternative screenplays. As for my own piece, it’s very difficult at the moment because of my exams, but I finish today my last one is politics. After that I will be able to spend a lot more time on my piece and hopefully have it completely finished by October.
