Title: The Lovers

by October-rain from Shropshire | in writing, poetry, love

Part 1 Fairwell for now

Darling... why is your face lined with sorrow?
as we stand amid the hollow
beneath the willow tree
you envelop all i see
in tragic grace and beauty
its true
we have to part
but your safe inside my heart
and this isnt goodbye
its fairwell for now

i have to leave my dear
but you have nothing to fear
for your never be alone
and someday ill return home
i am in the stars at night
i am the early mornings light
i am in the summer breeze
i whisper your name through the trees
this isnt goodbye
its fairwell for now

dont cry my darling
your tears hurt me so
i will always love you
this feeling will not go
i have to leave but for how long i do not know
all i know is that my destiny, lies beyond the sea
and this isnt goodbye
its fairwell for now

i kiss you softly, hold you tight
heavenly beauty fills my sight
and as we stand in this hollow
dont be ruled by sorrow
were my ring my darling
be my perfect wife
i want to hold you forever
never leave my life

my heart is yours my dariling
belongs only to you
keep it safe for now
its strength will see you through
i have to leave tomorrow
when the sun is in the sky
but we have tonight dear
and this isnt goodbye
no it isnt goodbye

Part 2 salior lad

i watched your boat glide out to sea
knowing this was your destiny
the tears pouring from my eyes
but you no longer heard my cries
my darling salior lad

each night i pray to the lord above
in hope he will spare you a watery end my love
and bring you back to me
away from that darkened sea

kiss me slowly, tell me this isnt goodbye
stroke my face
say you hate to see me cry
i want to spend a lifetime in your arms
basking in your boyish charms
but its some water that keeps up apart
and im left with a broken heart
my darling salior lad

the sea is in your blood
it echoes through your veins
you say its where you belong
but it feels so wrong
not to have you near
to live in constant fear
will i ever see you again?
my darling salior lad

i will stand on the cliff each day
watching out to sea
praying, hoping you will come back to me
some say my actions are a waste
but id waste a lifetime for one last glimpse of your face
i will stand here every day
hoping you havent lost your way
and one day
through the sea
your ship will sail back to me...
