Title: Wishful Wishing

by Craig from Cornwall | in writing, poetry, love

I tried to shoot the moon but missed completely
impaling the sun
its gold draining into the mines below.

When you wish upon a star
are you hoping it's more than the space version of a rubbish dump,
a collection of dust and rocks
that like the black sheep of the family
planets just couldn't bare to keep around?

I wish that I wished a little more often
so wish me luck as I wish upon the first star I see
in the heavenly night sky,
turns out
it might just be a satellite.
