"Radha" is based on the Hindu bhajan "Jai Radha Madhava". A bhajan is a devotional song and has a positive spiritual effect on the body and the senses. My composition, "Radha", came to life in 2004 as I played the original music (by Jagjit Singh) whilst playing guitar on top and hitting record and just improvising over the melody. At the time, my life was going through a bit of a rough patch where nothing seemed to go right and when I would improvise with my guitar I found it to be therapeutic and revitalizing, giving me some sort of strength. I decided to record a proper track and see if a listener would get the same feeling - an experiment. Over the years, as my musical skills have developed and as I learn more, my composition has taken many different forms up to what you hear now (version 5)...still unfinished. Radha has certainly been the most meaningful piece of music for me and she has helped me through many of my helpless moments. Let me know what you think.
