Ö÷²¥´óÐãpage

Ö÷²¥´óÐã Radio 5 live has a brand new homepage.

We began testing the new look back in June as part of a wider Ö÷²¥´óÐã radio online project. Today we’ve launched this project as Ö÷²¥´óÐã iPlayer Radio. It sees all Ö÷²¥´óÐã radio networks switch to a common look and feel, as well as launch our first Ö÷²¥´óÐã radio smartphone app (freely available from the Apple store at launch, other mobile platforms to follow - ).

While the new site may initially look very different to our former appearance, all the content you were previously able to access is still there – and hopefully easier to discover.

The top navigation allows you to search for 5 live programmes by category, via the schedule or with a search box, as well as links to our sister networks.

The ‘Favourites’ link lets you quickly access clips and programmes you have selected as your favourite if logged in using a Ö÷²¥´óÐã ID.

The middle part of the page is comprised of a series of tabs. The first - the landing page - is our live page, letting you listen and watch what’s on air right now. The second and third – Highlights and Latest Clips – provide a selection of our best moments as well as information about future programmes and events. The final tabs let you access clips and programmes based around a particular genre or subject matter: for example, during London 2012 it linked straight through to our Olympics Best Bits collection.

Clear links to our commentaries, downloads, blog and social media accounts are at the bottom of the page, along with the latest news and sport headlines.

This is a major launch for Ö÷²¥´óÐã radio, and has been in development for some time. You can read more about Ö÷²¥´óÐã iPlayer Radio in a blog post by Mark Friend, Controller of Ö÷²¥´óÐã Audio & Music Interactive. Likewise, Andrew Scott, the Head of the Radio & Music Product in Ö÷²¥´óÐã Future Media, has written a post on the Ö÷²¥´óÐã Internet blog about the technical side of the product.

I really encourage you to let us know what you think about the new look and the new app, and you can do so on the Ö÷²¥´óÐã Radio blog.

I look forward to hearing what you think.

- The desktop sites will roll out over of the course of Monday afternoon, and we anticipate the iPhone app will be available to download for free from the App Store by Tuesday morning.
