Well, you'd need to be living under a rock not to know that it's听at the moment, so we thought we'd go beyond the city lights and see what else is happening.
Head north towards the coast and you'll find four days of music spread across Portstewart, Portrush and Portbaliintrae. Now in it's fifth year, the 听has grown steadily, bringing talent from around the country up to the pubs of the coast. Keith Miller from the festival said, "This year is already shaping up to the Sessions biggest year yet, with more acts - including new faces and welcome returnees - and a greater buzz about the the event on the north coast and beyond, than ever before. Highlights include headline gigs by Gemma Hayes (supported by festival favourites, Sons Of Caliber), local legend Anthony Toner, and Bap Kennedy. Returning by popular demand, festival veterans include Derry's own liquour-soaked alt country heroes The Murder Balladeers, the fantastic Paddy Nash & The Happy Enchiladas, Master & Dog, and Malojian. Newcomers, some of whom have already made a mark on the north coast's musical venues, include Rachel Austin, Seven Summits, The Farriers and The Emerald Armada."
Andrew Farmer, frontman for those "festival favourites"听, said the Atlantic Sessions was his "favourite show of last year" when they played "in an old theatre to a fervent crowd".
Neil from festival newbies听 claimed that, "The North Coast lends inspiration for ALOT of our songs, so what better place is there to share great music? Expect a town buzzing with wall to wall live music. My highlight would have to be Silhouette in the Portrush Playhouse Theatre".
