Somewhere to hide if England fail in the World Cup

Chris Jackson | 14:15 UK time, Wednesday, 23 June 2010

One of the joys of my job is that I get to see virtually every nook and cranny of the North East & Cumbria.

These past couple of weeks I've been to Teesdale, Weardale, Sunderland, Jarrow and North Northumberland. In the stunning weather we've been having they all looked fantastic in the brilliant sunshine. But my to award has to go to.......

Stone age hut at HowickHowick and the stone age hut perched just above the coastline. I took a picture of it on my phone and as you can see it's like an earthen . I was filming it for a special documentary I'm producing that will go out in the Autumn.

It's a reconstruction of a stone age settlement discovered by accident a decade ago. - in effect they were digging up Britain's oldest known house.

Although it looks quite tiny from the outside - on the inside it's actually quite spacious. I guess you could call it a stone age Tardis. With only a for company and the sound of the waves crashing on the beach below it was a haven from the hurly burly of modern life.

As I write this England are probably changing into their kit ready for the crucial .

If they fail to make it through to the knock-out stages the team may well be looking for somewhere to hide.

Can I recommend a small retreat on the Northumberland coast that might seem like a home from home. It's an old property which has a nice expanse of turf (on the roof), sturdy posts and it easily sleeps 11.
