The pressures of youth football

Hi hope you are all well.

Over the past week we have seen again how hard it is to predict who will gain promotion from over the past week.

Normally by this stage of the season you tend to have an idea who the major forces in the division will be and gaps start to open up between teams but this has not been the case during this campaign.

Take my club - we are currently in 14th place but are only 12 points off the top of the league.

There are many jobs , but few involve as those involved in professional football.

There are not many better feelings than driving home after you have put in a good display and your team has earned a victory. You can't wait for the next game, the next chance to get out on the pitch and show what you can do. You have cemented your place in the side for another week and are looking forward to .

Plenty of characters left in the game

Throughout I have been lucky enough to come across some incredible characters. There is a myth that , but I like to think that some of them are - to an extent - merely hidden away in the lower reaches of the leagues. In the coming weeks I will attempt to unveil one or two.

We, , finally got our season up and running with a against a on an emotional day for everyone connected with the club following . Just a quick note of thanks to the travelling Aldershot fans who at various times in the game broke into a chorus of "there's only one Jimmy Sirrel".

If anyone was at the game feel free to give me your opinion but I thought it was a marvellous advert for League Two football with both sides favouring attacking football in an end to end contest . All credit to Aldershot for their contribution to the game. The general consensus after the game was that they were the best team we had faced all season.
