Is there a ghost in my house?

Huw Stephens Huw Stephens | 17:18 UK time, Wednesday, 31 October 2007

Last weeks Electric proms, as the photos down below from Beth and Iain prove, was brilliant! A pleasure to see New Cassettes on Friday night, and then watch New Cassettes watching Riz and Riff Raff round the corner. All the footage is well worth checking out to see all the bands in action!

Anyone seen any ghosts yet? Nor me. Load of old rubbish if you ask me:) Don't tell Found that though. They're in session tonight, were one of the new bands who played last years Electric Proms, and have released a special spooky single on the ace Their session will be on tonight on Introducing in England from midnight!

As our second Ö÷²¥´óÐã Electric Proms experience ends, my Ö÷²¥´óÐã Introducing blogging experience begins….hello guys, I do Weekender Introducing from Northampton.

I’ve just got back from taking the show to Camden last Friday to support . The band played with Reverend & The Makers and The Metros at The Barfly as part of Electric Proms Introducing...

It was great to be at the festival again this year. Last year we followed who performed with the Ö÷²¥´óÐã Concert Orchestra and choir. Playing this year along with New Cassettes, we also had at the festival, who are also from Northampton. They supported Bloc Party at The Roundhouse on Saturday night. Both were quality gigs which I'm still buzzing about seeing.

We broadcast the Weekender live from upstairs at the Barfly and spoke to the New Cassettes and Jon from Reverend & The Makers while we were on-air. If you want to listen you can hear it on our podcast until this Saturday.

Radio Luxembourg at Electric Ballroom, at the Electric Proms.

Testing... testing. One, Two!
Hello all! I'm Bethan Elfyn. I was Huw's long-suffering co-host on Radio One, Wales but in the last two weeks have become chief boss lady of the new Introducing, Wales show on Wednesday night. My home page is HEREÌý

Yay! Now we are better acquainted, let me begin my new blogging life. It was a really hectic week of gigs last week from In The City in Manchester to a flying visit mid-Los Campesinos tour in Brighton, to the opening night of the Ö÷²¥´óÐã's Electric Proms.

I was curious to see how Welsh psychedelic popsters Radio Luxembourg would go down to a predominantly goth audience at the Electric Ballroom for the Suzie Sioux gig. No offense Suzie or said goths, but sunshine infused pop might not have been the best musical starter.

Last Beth and Huw show....

Huw Stephens Huw Stephens | 20:24 UK time, Thursday, 11 October 2007

I'm doing my last show with Bethan Elfyn tonight on Radio 1 in Wales. We've been doing it every Thursday night for the last 8 years. I've been doing it since I was 18! There's been a lot of fond memories, shared on the show tonight, and a lot of incredible music played. From GLC to SFA, Automatic to High Contrast, Funeral for a Friend to Future of the Left and so much more, it's been an absolute pleasure to present the show exclusively for Wales every Thursday night.
So a massive thanks to all th bands who'veplayed on the show and made it what it is, to Beth Elfyn and the team, and mostly to you for listening. Bethan Elfyn will present Introducing in Wales every Wednesday night 12-2am, same time I do my show across England.
All Change next week too - the new In New Music We Trust show starts at 9pm - I'll be bringing you the best new music from across the UK every week!

So tonights show will concentrate on the Peel day gigs, whizzing round the place finding out who's playing where and when.

Kate Goes, who played my night at the Social recently, has some gigs soon - to find out about this ace band...

Cats and Cats and Cats and Oxjam

Huw Stephens Huw Stephens | 01:37 UK time, Thursday, 4 October 2007

No, I haven't gone all feline on your collective you know whats. The band were in session on the show this week, along with This Town Needs Guns, two bands who have a split album out on records as of......now! They both hav a post-rock groove about them - emotional, inventive, big and beautiful. Listen again if you missed it, and it was nice to have live music from Maida Vale in sesison.
I compered an Oxjam gig tonight in London - Members of Me , Get Cape.Wear Cape.Fly and Hot Chip all played, and our very own mr Bobby Friction was djing - and all sounded absolutely brilliant. Oxjam has started, with gigs and events happening all over the place. You know that Oxfam is a charity that does important work - get involved with these gigs and music events
