Reading four-piece are our latest tip of the week.Ìý
The band came to our attention after they uploaded some tracks to us at the tail end of last year. Jenny Minard on their local show on Ö÷²¥´óÐã Berkshire quickly picked up on their youthful indie rock exuberance and .
More recently, they've been played by Tom Robinson on 6 Music and this weekend they'll be performing on the Ö÷²¥´óÐã Introducing stage at Reading and Leeds. That's pretty good going, considering they've only been together since the start of the year and the oldest member of the band is just 17.
After selling out their very first show, they've supported Male Bonding, The Kabeedies and Tripwires. Here are some other interesting titbits supplied by the band themselves:
Matthew (guitar and vocals) is ginger, has a girlfriend from Venezuela, is friends with and lives in the same street as Rhys from Tripwires.
Elliot plays a headless bass, doesn't like rock music, listens to remixes and has 8 cats. We practice at his house.

Last week on my show, the DIY label I featured was , who are based in Paris with a roster of French and international bands and artists.
Having promoted andÌýDJ'd for a while, the Plastic Spoons crew wanted to play the kind of recordsÌýthat simply weren't there to spin, and so the label was born, releasing records at a speedy rate and keeping the French indie kids happy.

This time last year, our Reading and Leeds stage hosted Not Squares, an unconventional trio with the audacity to present not one but TWO bassists and ZERO six-string guitars. They went down rather well.
The band was formed by workmates Fudge and Scott (formerly of ), and with the addition of Adam on drums they've played support dates with In Case Of Fire, The King Blues and The Computers, attracting the attention of Ö÷²¥´óÐã Introducing in Wales's Bethan Elfyn along the way (read Beth's interview with the boys here).
This week, we're rather enjoying the track Sex With Strangers from their EP of the same name (out now on Undergroove). If you're into noisy alt-rock bands like McLusky and Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster, this'll be right up your street:

It's Tidal comes from zero.two, the second EP fromÌýScotland's .
Drummer Peter Onneby, bassist Mark Mulholland and guitarist Kenny Finnigan got their first start at Glasgow's West End Festival before a series of promising EP reviews saw them catch the attention of 6 Music's Lauren Laverne and our very own Vic Galloway.

Initially set up by from Talking Heads to release Brazilian music,
Luaka Bop from New York now spans the genres and gives us wonderful new music
from around the world. Not least The Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt who I've been
playing on the show of late.

The G.A.N.G (Growth And Not Glory) are Hull based rapper Anthony "Nero" Iluobe, vocalist Chima "Kizzle" Etekochay and producer Trea "Heatrock" Barber.Ìý
Debut single Kick n Snare sparked the interests of Radio Humberside's Raw Talent Introducing show which led to the group performing in the Ö÷²¥´óÐã Humberside studios on two occasions. Shadow of the Night, the trio's second release has already been playlisted by Radio 1 and will see the group appear on the Introducing stage at this year's Reading and Leeds Festivals.

It's always been Jazz On 3's mission to seek out the best creative music around and bring it to the airwaves, so we're very excited that you can now send us your tracks via Ö÷²¥´óÐã Introducing. We've already discovered and played music by Glasgow jazz-fusioneers , bassist 's quartet and guitarist and we're looking forward to having our ears opened to lots more great new talent via the uploader.
Presented by Jez Nelson (right), Jazz On 3 has been on air for more than ten years and we're all about new music. We're proud to have supported bands like Acoustic Ladyland, Polar Bear, , and Kit Downes, whose album has been shortlisted for the Mercury Prize this year, from their early days.
Jazz On 3 is a broad church: we play everything from free jazz to fusion and post-bop to skronk, as long as it's good. So if this sounds like you and you want to get heard, please submit your demos, homemade recordings or album tracks. Along with Jez and the rest of the production team, I'll be listening with interest and considering the stuff we like for airplay on the show.
